Candy Cane Decorating Contest

Join the Iola Area Chamber of Commerce in decking Iola's halls with Christmas cheer! The Chamber invites Iola's businesses and individuals to participate in its Candy Cane Decorating Contest. Join in some festive fun with the opportunity at prize winnings! 

The Chamber has wire candy cane frames available for businesses and individuals to purchase.* Payment can be made online or in person at the Chamber office (10 W Jackson Avenue, Iola), and frames are available for pick up at the Chamber office. Participants get to decorate their candy canes however they like and display them where the public can see them. The Chamber will post a map of where to find all the participating candy canes so that the public can locate them around town and vote on their favorites. Voting will take place on the Chamber's Facebook page, so make sure to follow our page for more details. 

*In order to participate in the public voting and prize winnings, participants must purchase their candy cane frame from the Iola Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Schedule of Events

November 22nd - Deadline to register and purchase a wreath

December 1st - The wreath must be decorated and displayed in a highly visible location by this date 

December 8th - Deadline to send a photo of participants’ wreaths to the Chamber for voting  

December 19th - Winner will be announced, and awards given

Let us know who had the favorite candy cane by participating in the community votes. We will post pictures of the candy canes on our Facebook page in mid-December. The candy canes that get the most likes will win first, second and third place for prize winnings!
